This man-made pond in downtown Charleston is a popular place for walkers and joggers, and its history does indeed go back to colonial times. Across the street, you will find tennis courts, a ball field, and a playground.

How to Get There

  • Located at the intersection of Broad Street and Ashley Avenue in downtown Charleston, SC.

    Take I-26 to exit #221-A and go southwest on US #17. After a few blocks, turn left onto Rutledge Avenue and go southeast 1.96 kilometers (1.2 miles). Colonial Lake will be on the right. Be sure to observe the parking restrictions if you are driving.
