This preserve contains steep, undisturbed bluffs overlooking the Congaree River. It has significant stands of American beech, oak-hickory and bottomland hardwood forest. Several nice hiking trails wander thru the woods.

How to get there
|
Take I-26 to exit #145-B. Go north on US #601 for 25.4 kilometers (15.8 miles), then turn left and go northwest on SC #419. After a few miles, the road changes to Fort Motte Road (#25). Continue on this road, then look for Turkey Track Lane on the right. Turn right onto Turkey Track Lane (unpaved), and follow this road into the preserve.
