Just outside of downtown Orangeburg is a string of parks along the North Fork Edisto River. At the center, you will find the Edisto Memorial Gardens, which feature hundreds of species of roses, as well as wisteria, dogwoods, azaleas, and crape myrtle. The adjacent Horne Wetland Park has a series of boardwalks through the swamp. Many picnic tables are available here, and an arts center is open at certain times of the week. There are plenty of things to see and do here.

Farther downstream, you will find a disc golf course, the Orangeburg City Landing, and some great riverside pathways.
