This sanctuary is located inside the City of Walterboro, yet some parts of it seem to be distantly removed from civilization. Three miles of hiking and bicycling trails and boardwalks wander through the wilderness, some of which are paved. It is also a popular place for canoeing, as several creeks wind their way through the wetlands.
