This recreation area, also known as “SCE&G Park and Ramp Site #1”, is located just south of the Lake Murray dam. It features a large swimming beach plus dozens of picnic shelters, some of which can be reserved for groups. This is one of the very few public swimming areas on the entire lake. Unfortunately, the parking fees are rather steep, and if you leave and come back, you have to pay the parking fee again.
