When the Santee Canal opened in 1800 to connect the Santee and Cooper rivers, it was America′s first summit canal. Today, you will find an 11,000 square foot Interpretive Center, four miles of boardwalks and trails, canoe rentals, and the Berkeley Museum.

How to get there

Located in Moncks Corner, SC at the eastern end of Stoney Landing Road.
Take I-26 to exit #199 and go northeast on US #17-A (Live Oak Drive) 23.4 kilometers (14.5 miles) into Moncks Corner, SC. Turn right on SC #6 (East Main Street) and go southeast 1.6 km. (one mile). Turn left onto US #52 Bypass (Rembert C. Dennis Boulevard) and go northeast a short distance. Turn right onto Stoney Landing Road and follow this road into the park.
