When Pearl Fryar moved to Bishopville in 1976, the three acres that were located near his house consisted of nothing but flat, barren fields. In the early 1980s, he began planting and pruning trees and shrubs. After several decades of work, he has transformed the property into a wonderful topiary garden that attracts around 5,000 visitors per year.
