On both sides of the re-diversion canal, which runs from Lake Moultrie to the Santee River, you will find large grassy fields and several wildlife management areas. The gravel roads along the canal form a portion of the Palmetto Trail. Public access is available from US #52, SC #49, and secondary road #35. This canal is also listed as a wildlife viewing area.
