This is the main information center for both the Francis Marion National Forest and the Cape Romain National Wildlife Refuge. Jointly operated by the US Forestry Service and the US Fish & Wildlife Service, it is an excellent place to begin your explorations of these wilderness areas. Many brochures and maps are available here.

Behind the building are several interesting boardwalks and hiking trails.

How to get there

Located on US #17 near Awendaw, SC.

Take I-26 to exit #212 and go east on I-526 for 19.3 kilometers. Exit onto US #17 north, then go northeast on US #17 for 24.2 km. The visitor center will be on the right.
